SIDOXIA'S STORY
The greatest leaders and innovations in history have been created with the help of optimism. Our firm name, Sidoxia, is inspired by the Greek word for optimism. For every problem there is a corresponding opportunity and solution. Sidoxia was established to fill a void in the financial services marketplace for independent, client-driven advice that is free of conflicts.
Sidoxia was founded by Wade W. Slome, CFA®, CFP® in 2008 in Newport Beach, California. Having managed a $20 billion mutual fund and worked in the industry for more than twenty years, Mr. Slome’s extensive experience and credentials allow him to provide institutional-quality service to all clients.
The optimistic theme underlying Sidoxia’s name also stems from Mr. Slome’s older brother, who earned an academic award for being the “Most Optimistic” before he succumbed to complications related to his mental illness.

No Pain, No Gain
Market corrections are never comfortable, but successful, long-term investing comes with a price. Peter Lynch said it best when he stated, “Far more money has been lost by investors preparing for corrections, or trying to anticipate corrections, than has been lost in corrections themselves.”

Insane Gain After Fed & Ukraine Pain
Although there are plenty of reasons for investors to rationalize a run for the hills, there remains some extraordinarily strong fundamental tailwinds intact. In spite of the economic pain caused by Ukraine, the Fed, and inflation, there are plenty of reasons to remain optimistic.

End of the World or Status Quo?
At the end of the day, the daily headlines will continually attempt to sell the negative story that the world is coming to an end. If you have the fortitude and discipline to ignore the irrelevant noise, the status quo of normal volatility can create more exciting opportunities and better returns for long-term investors.

From Rocket Ship to Roller Coaster
In order to earn above-average, financial returns in your portfolio over the long-run, experiencing unsettling volatility and corrections is the price of doing business. Flying on rocket ships might be fun, but sometimes the rocket can run out of gas, and you are forced to jump on a roller coaster.
